How to install Minecraft PE Maps on iOS & Android

In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to install and use maps on Minecraft Pocket Edition on Android and iOS devices.

When downloading a map, they can come in a .mcworld / .mcpack extension. For these, you want to simply open the file, and it’ll auto-install onto your device. The other extension for them is .ZIP or .RAR. If your map comes in these, the following tutorial is for you.

If you have an Android scroll down the page a bit for that tutorial.

Installing Minecraft Pocket Edition Maps on an iOS Device

1. Head Over to our Minecraft Maps library on MCM and download your map of choice. In this tutorial, we will be using Step Parkour for Minecraft Bedrock Edition as an example.

2. Go on the Desktop of your computer and create a folder called “Step Parkour”. Now use WinRAR (or any other program that extracts files) to open the .ZIP map, and click extract. Then select the folder you just created.

Now that you’ve extracted the .ZIP map files into your newly created “Step Parkour” folder, you’re ready to go. It should look like this. Now it’s time to do the actual installing.

3. The first thing you will want to do is download and install iMazing for PC, this is a free file manager software available for Mac and PCs.

4. Now it’s time to plug your iPhone into your computer using the iPhone cable your phone came with.

5. Have the map folder you just created “Step Parkour” open on your computer.

6. Go on iMazing and go to File > Open “File System”. This will bring you to the following page.

7. Now it’s time to go into the “Apps” Folder. Double click on it and it will bring you to a new screen with all the apps on your phone. Scroll down until you find Minecraft and then double click on it. After this, you will see a folder called “Documents”. Double click on this, then games, then com.mojang.

8. Now you should see a couple of folders, but right now our focus is on the folder called “minecraftWorlds”. Double tap to go into this folder.

9. Once you’re inside the “minecraftWorlds” folder on iMazing, you want to drag the “Step Parkour” folder you created earlier into it.

We’re now all done! Open up the Minecraft Pocket Edition Application and the new world should be ready and available to play.

Installing Minecraft Pocket Edition Maps on an Android Device

1. Head Over to our Minecraft Map library on your mobile device and download your texture pack of choice. In this tutorial, we will be using Fishy’s Wonderful Shaders Pack as an example.

2. The first thing you want to do after downloading your Texture Pack .ZIP onto your Android Device is install WinRAR from the Google Play Store on your device.

2. Next open the RAR app on your Android device and click the ‘Download’ folder. Inside this folder should be the .ZIP texture pack file.

3. Once you’re inside of the download folder you will see the map’s .ZIP file you just downloaded from our site.

4. Long tap on “Step (Official Release) by manifest.zip” and then tap “Extract Files…”.

5. Tap on the “Browse…” button, next tap on the “Up one level” button.

6. Now you will see a couple of folders, the only one that is important is “games”. Tap on that, then tap on “com.mojang”, then tap on “minecraftWorlds”. Once you’ve finished that, click on “Ok” at the bottom and you’re almost done. Time to close out of that and open up Minecraft Pocket Edition.

We’re now all done! Open up the Minecraft Pocket Edition Application and the new world should be ready and available to play.
